The first conversationalist in our “unending conversation” feature is Richard Carter. Marc and I met Dick and his wife Heather when they joined us on pilgrimage to Turkey in 2011. And we have been in touch ever since. Dick and Heather, even though they live in Australia, were able to attend Marc’s memorial service in March 2015.
Dick is a retired Australian industrialist. A “captain of industry” we insisted. He is President of The Progressive Christian Network of Victoria and of Common Dreams, a conference held every 3 years in Australia. Common Dreams provides opportunities for debate, education and research on progressive religion. Marc was a headliner for Common Dreams in 2013.
Dick is also known for his wine collection. And from what I can surmise, he knows about the best wine, kept until last, which will never run out.
