Brant Pope

As have thousands of people, Brant Pope was deeply affected by the work of Marcus Borg and dedicated several years to becoming intimately familiar with Borg’s writings and presentations. Brant met Marcus and attended several of his public presentations and it inspired him to bring the groundbreaking ideas and insights of Marcus Borg to the attention of interested people in his Episcopal denomination. This has resulted in Brant presenting workshops and seminars on Borg’s work in New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Dr. Pope is currently the Zachary Scott Professor of Drama at the University of Texas and has also taught at the University of Illinois, Penn State University, and Florida State University. He has four degrees including a PHD in American Studies from Michigan State University and his work as an actor and director has been seen Off-Broadway, in regional theatre, and in film and television.
