Theopoetics. What is it? An Invitation.
With special guest Scott Holland

Theopoetics might be hard to define. But Scott Holland will help us get a sense of what it is and isn’t. Scott is a major voice today in exploring, articulating, ‘doing’ Theopoetics. He will tell us how and why it emerged and why it is important. For us. Scott is warm, clear, inviting. His is just the voice we need.

An introduction to Scott Holland: Scott is a pastor. He is a peace activist. He is a professor. He has worked with the World Counsel of Churches and peace churches in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas. He is published in Theopoetics, theology and culture, peace studies. He teaches Theopoetics through Bethany Theological Seminary in a Masters Program in Theopoetics and Writing.

We have referenced Theopoetics during many Second Saturdays. The name sounds fancy. But don’t let it put you off or think it is above your pay grade. Theopoetics honors the everyday. Depends on it. The every day is after all where we find ourselves.

This Second Saturday Conversation will be foundational for all of us. It is an honor to have Scott be our guest.
