This book would be a great starter book into Marcus’s work.
Marcus takes you through his own journey which started at a young age with an unquestioning belief in Christ. It then moved through collegiate skepticism and finally ended with a mature and contemporary Christian faith. This later understanding of Christianity relies on his academic study of the historical Jesus. Jesus is looked at through a lens which sees him as a spirit person, teacher of alternative wisdom, social prophet, and movement founder.
