Oct 9 Discussion – Telling the story again anew
October 9 is the death date of Jacques Derrida. (1930-2004). He is best known for developing the analysis called deconstruction. I for one am unable to fathom the work of Derrida. And for many years ignored it. It did not make a debut into my thinking until I read Jack Caputo. Who does understand deconstruction. And Derrida. So Jack is a secondary source. But it doesn’t get better than Jack doing Jacques. I asked Jack if he would join us October 9 in honor of Derrida. And to share with us how Derrida’s work influenced his own and why he thinks the work is important. Don’t be intimidated by Caputo, Derrida or deconstruction. They are worth our while. And friends of God. Join us and see what I mean.
I have been weaving Jack’s insights into the foundational work of Marcus Borg. Last year Jack had his inaugural visit. It was a lively and moving session. It is an honor to have Jack return. I can’t wait to hear and see what will unfold.
