Into the Deep Introduction
In June of 2018 the Marcus J. Borg Foundation sponsored our first lecture weekend with speaker Michael Morwood. Following that event many asked us to continue to provide opportunity to explore and re-imagine what it means to be “religious,” “spiritual,” “Christian,” “none,” “other…”. We are doing just that on the second Saturday of the month in Bend. We invite you to loosen your moorings and venture with us “Into the Deep.” All are welcome.
March 9th Discussion – Worldview
Marianne Borg and Bill Ellis will continue the conversation and explore WORLDVIEW. According to the Christian liturgical year we will be in the season of Lent. Lent is a time when the question is called about what matters to us, what we think is possible, what we think about the human condition, and the purpose or meaning of life. In keeping with the prompt of the season we will explore WORLDVIEW; our “philosophy of life” or concept of the world. Worldviews are not just individual. They reflect society’s understanding of life as well. We will reflect on our own view of things, how we got there, and how it shapes our hopes and fears. We will also include a discussion of Beauty. Which Augustine suggested we cannot live without.
